Questify Your Life: Using Gamification and Positive Psychology for Increased Self-Satisfaction

What is Questify Your Life?

“Questify Your Life” is a system of gamification and positive psychology that I use to create quests out of my life. I created a multi-tiered system where I create quests in my life to focus on the goals I value. I have been using some form of this system since 2019. The goal of this is to encourage goal completion in a form that is fun, with an emphasis on the importance of play and creativity. Below is the beginning of my attempt to make more of this information pubic and usable to a wider audience.

Description of presentation:

In this engaging and interactive session, Sierra will share her passion for leveraging evidence-based techniques to add a sense of adventure, accomplishment, and fun to everyday life, Sierra will briefly outline some foundations of gamification and positive psychology and how they can be applied to develop a personalized “Questify Your Life” system. The tone of this presentation is playful, courageous, and inspirational.

You’ll learn Sierra’s three-step process for quest creation: establishing your character, designing fulfilling quests, and mapping your journey. She’ll provide real-world examples from her own life experience to illustrate how to implement the system and will lead the audience through interactive quest design exercises. These stories are directly tied to her mental health recovery and disability journey as well as her disability advocacy work.
